Morristown

Township Information

A state-designed "regional center", Morristown is the Country Seat of Morris County and the home to both Morristown Memorial Hospital and a wide range of cultural facilities. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has named Morristown one of its "Dozen Distinctive Destinations". In and around Morristown are a wide number of historic attractions and museums. New York City is easily accessible from Morristown, which has a train station on New Jersey Transit's Morris and Essex line that provides service to Penn Station in Manhattan, approximately one hour away.

Morristown Public Library

Morristown's Public Library provides residents with reading materials, access to technology and continuing education, self-improvement, enjoyment, and information. They achieve this by providing a location for the dissemination of state and local documents, New Jersey history sources, and materials that will support Historic Preservation research. The Morris School District is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students from pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade from three municipalities in Morris Country: Morristown, Morris Township, and Morris Plains. Learn more: here.

Recreation
